Donate Today
While HOPES has had to limit in-person programming due to the pandemic, it has been through generous donations that we have been able to provide services including delivering essential items and kids activities to shelters, as well as providing online educational programming. We are committed to continue providing the best educational support to our students and ensure the safety of our families during this time.
This is a particularly difficult time for people experiencing homelessness.
For those experiencing homelessness, especially those in shelters, social distancing is almost impossible.
They are especially in need of masks and cleaning supplies.
Students that are experiencing homelessness do not have access to the technology necessary to fully participate in e-learning.
Our students’ educational routines were disrupted during the transition to e-learning when we were not able to go back to shelters immediately.
We also know that BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) are disproportionately affected by COVID-19 as a direct result of systemic racism.
Chicago HOPES for Kids programs have looked a little different since COVID-19. Check out this video to get a glimpse of how we've adapted to continue serving...

How Will Your Donation Make An Impact?
Kids who read 20 minutes every day score better than 90% of their peers by grade 6.
According to the After School Alliance, STEM learning significantly impacts not only interest in science but also in students' communication and teamwork abilities.
Your donation will provide new pencils, pens, paper, rulers, calculators, and other necessary school supplies for all children at a shelter.
Shelter Sponsorships
You will fund the HOPES After School Program at a shelter in Chicago for one full semester.
You will sponsor a shelter library full of children's books. Access to a library propels a child 2.4 years further in education on average.
